Sweet, Sweet Baby ~Omaha Newborn Photographer~

I have a new blog I am working on with bigger, better images but darn if I didn't get it done in time for this post. I tossed around the idea of waiting to post this sweet guy's sneak preview until after my new blog was done but I just couldn't wait.

This sweet boy, Cooper, is SUCH an absolute doll. He was peaceful and calm, let me move him, change his position, stick him in the woods, in a bathtub, on a bench. He was up for it all. His parents were such good sports too with the swarming bugs for our outdoor portion of the session. I still can't believe that I am so willing to get on the ground with giant bugs around but when I am shooting I would do anything for a beautiful image.

Cooper was an absolute dream. His mother is beautiful, his father is witty and he has a great life of laughter, fun and his dad's Camaro in his future.

Enjoy the preview and don't forget to schedule your newborn session. We can get it in the books for a time around your due date and make adjustments as needed. Newborns are best photographed in the first 8-10 days. I LOVE squishy, sweet babies and I think my husband would prefer that I photograph them rather than add #5 to our brood :).

I just love photographing families with little ones and seeing such varying personalities in the children. One is the explorer, one is the character, one is serious. Little ones are so much fun and I will always love capturing their different looks, moods, smiles and personalities.

I am quite biased but this 6 month old is pretty darn cute. This is our youngest son Giovanni and he couldn't be any sweeter and more perfect to round out our eclectic family. I was happy to have an evening to take him out for his 6 month photographs. He is a dream client, happy, smiling, blowing raspberries and up for any location. He is growing up WAY to fast. I regret not having these type of photos for the other 3 kids as they grew up. I am sure you will be able to watch him grow :).

When Kristi contacted me about doing photos of her children she knew she wanted some of them taken by a specific tree that I had done a previous engagement session near by. We met at another spot first for some photos of the kids and then moved onto another location and finally....the tree. By this time the kids were pretty done with photos and several of us had picked ticks off of ourselves. We got the shot though :). The tree is beautiful and it was the perfect wrap up to our session.

Cheeeeese Picture! ~Omaha Family Photographer~

Most professional photographers know that having a child say, "cheese" is less than desirable. You usually end up with a bunch of "cheesy" pasted on smiles that don't speak to the real child underneath. The youngest had a spin on "cheese" and he excitedly shouted, "Cheeeeese Picture!" occasionally during our session. This was new take on things and usually ended up with a great smile, laughter and sometimes a hand hoisted up into the air :).

I had fun with these boys. Their session took place at a family members home in Crescent. It was lush, green and overflowing with flowers in every color. Their mom won my March Madness Bracket Challenge free session gift. It was great to meet them all!

Vicki and Greg ~ Omaha Engagement Photographer~

One of the things I like about my job the most is meeting good people, fun people... people like Greg and Vicki.

Vicki contacted me at the beginning of the month about photographing their wedding in September (I can't wait!). As part of their wedding package we got together for their engagement photo session last night on a hot and humid June evening.

Vicki and Greg are so perfect for each other. I love seeing the connection between couples and recognizing the yin and yang of how they work together. These two have been close to the same circle for many years but didn't get together until years later. I love those types of stories. It seems as though there is something meant to be when paths cross in the past and finally meet up in the future. It's perfect.

These are some amazing locations with great views, wildflowers galore and yes, mosquitoes and tics too. That is a small price for beautiful images. I hope my bug spray doused couple will agree.

Brothers ~ Omaha Child Photographer~

I was thrilled to finally get to meet 3 brothers, 10, 7 and 5 for a photoshoot on Monday. Their mother and I scheduled their session clear back on April 1st. Our first session date was May 13th and we have had several reschedules since then due to illness for both of us, weather, weather related sports reschedules and I don't even remember what else. We became e-mail pen pals and was so happy to finally meet Brooke and her sons.

I was telling her as we walked along in the woods that I think families with 3 boys or 3 girls are so perfect. I think people assume having boys and girls as the ideal but what could be more fun than growing up than a household of best friends...brothers.

The bugs were thick and poor mom got eaten alive with mosquitoes but we got some great shots before wrapping it up so they could go get the ice cream they were waiting for.

It was great to meet you guys!

Vintage Goodness ~ Omaha Family Photographer~

I was thrilled to have a chance to photograph fellow photographer Ashley, her husband and son on their own turf. We did a session back in December in frigid temperatures down in Old Market. This time we went to Columbus where it was beautiful, warm, June weather. Ashley, her husband and son all wore their vintage wedding attire from their marriage back in November. I was thrilled to be able to capture these images at their home.

Ashley and her adorable family are such pure people. They live and do what they love. Their 3 year old son Cayen is too cute for words and he exudes the same qualities as his parents. Adam and Cayen both took out their guitars and I was able to capture timeless moments with father and son in a field as the sun went down. Ashley joined in with her love of photography. You really can see the passion for each other and life in general in all of them.

As the sun was going down storm clouds rolled in. Even though the showers where about 80 miles away that smell of rain took over the open field. Living out in the country is such a different feeling. You have such peace and solitude. You take deeper breaths, you walk slower, you look around more and you cling to those you love. You see that peaceful country nature in this lovely family.

3 week old Beauty ~Omaha Newborn Photographer~

The weather caused havoc for our previously scheduled sessions so I didn't get to meet beautiful Ava until she was already 3 weeks old. In the newborn photography world many would say that isn't an ideal age but I find it an amazing age to photograph. You get such fabulous open eyed shots from these little ones. Their looks are filled with such wonderment, curiosity and peace.

Ava gave me such powerful yet serene looks during her session. We waited for sleepy time but only got it for about 3 minutes and before you know it the sun was going down and it was time for us to go. I bet she gave mom and dad a long quiet night after her big photoshoot.

Dusti and Mark ~ Omaha Wedding Photographer~

It was a hot one. Fans were going, wedding programs were waving trying to keep babies and adults cool, faces were sweating and the dogs (they were in the wedding) were panting. Despite all of that it was such an amazing, emotional, beautiful wedding for two people that could not possibly be more right or perfect for one another.

I manage to tear up during all the weddings I shoot. It really is an amazing moment to witness. I feel honored to know Dusti and Mark and I know they are going to have an amazing life together. They are thrilled (as am I as their chosen photographer) to be welcoming their first child, a girl, in September.

Congratulations you guys. Here are a few quick images from last night. More to come of course :). Enjoy your honeymoon, relaxation and foot baths ;) (inside joke). Love you guys!

Layne is 1! ~Omaha Family Photographer~

I first photographed Layne when he was just 11 weeks old. Here is a photo from that session:

He has grown so much and is just as cute as he was the first time I saw him. Weather threatened our scheduled sessions with wind, dark skies and sprinkles of rain. In the end though we won out and got some great shots in the process.

It always means so much to me when families come back to me for return sessions. Not only is a great vote of confidence in the work I produce but it is a great chance to get to know people even better. I must say that Layne's mom is one of the nicest I have ever met :).

Sweet, Sweet Girl ~ Omaha Baby Photographer ~

I had the joy of photographing sweet little Stella a couple of days ago. Her mom won my free session giveaway drawing after my Facebook fan, err, like page reached 500 fans.

Little Stella is 11 weeks old and has such a calm, peaceful spirit. She was up for anything and seemed to love being in the pink bucket. Her parents, likewise, were up for walks through the woods and even into a pretty thick wooded area where the only paths were those made by deer. I commented that you know I love my job when I am in the woods where we saw more than one large, reddish spider crawling about the ground. I have no doubt I would have screamed loudly and jumped up and down if one of them got on me but I probably would have continued snapping the shutter at the same time. It is a small price to pay for cute images of a baby in bucket in the woods :).

Woodland Adventure ~ Omaha Child Photographer~

It was a muggy Sunday morning in the woods for this session. Little Emma and Leah were up for it though. I first photographed these two last year (It was May 31st last year) when Leah was just 10 days old. Here is one of my favorite photos from that session:

They are both growing up so fast. Emma is a captivating child. She is smart, sweet, and a great conversationalist. Leah is absolutely adorable and has the most beautiful almond shaped eyes. The two girls are mini-me versions of mom and dad.

We enjoyed a hike in the woods (sorry about your shoes Missy) and got some adorable photos.

Birthday Girl ~ Omaha Child Photographer~

Little Naveah turned 1 in early May and with the weather improving we were finally able to get together for some 1 year photos. She was not thrilled about the session and tears were flowing but in between those I got some adorable photos.

She was so adorable when we would face the wind. She loved the wind blowing in her face and the birds, pine cones, and little rocks had most of her attention.

It is amazing that with 4 kids all so young I find that I forget what that age is like. The eye for exploration but still wanting to stay close to mom is so cute.

I suspect you will see Naveah in photos again soon. We may try for a morning session in hopes that she will put on all of her adorable camera charm.

This is my first ever maternity session. I honestly haven't done any before because I'm not crazy about most maternity photography. It has to be the right person and I can't say enough about this amazing mama. She is beautiful, real, earthy and up for anything that will create beautiful images of this amazing time in a woman's life.

Breanna + Nick ~ Omaha Engagement Photographer~

I love these two! Breanna contacted me back in late March about an engagement session for her and her fiance Nick. I feel like I have gotten to know her through our many e-mails and online conversations. I was not prepared though for hour stunning she was. This was an amazing match to her sweet, kind demeanor. Her fiance Nick is the perfect match for her. You can really SEE the love between these two. They are down to earth and I foresee many, many years of love, fun, smiles, laughter and beautiful children for me to photography.

I had the hardest time ever picking their preview photos. I have a ton more but it becomes less of a preview if I post them all :). The second half of our session took place at Soaring Wings Vineyard. It was the perfect ending awash in the beautiful glow of the sunset.

I hope you guys enjoy. I really loved meeting you and I am so thrilled you selected me to photograph you guys.

Brave Fancy Nancy ~Omaha Child Photographer~

Mother Nature missed the memo that it was May. It was 38 degrees with a brisk wind for our Saturday morning shoot. We pushed the time back a little to get a couple more degrees but it was still chilly. These girls though were unfazed and when it moved to the Fancy Nancy part of our session they forgot all about the weather. They are adorable cousins, their mothers are sisters and just as beautiful.

This session was so much fun. I just loved seeing the girls play and hearing the adorable ooooh and aaaah over all of the sparkley goodness.

A Sneak Sneak Peek ~ Omaha Child Photographer ~

I am getting ready to head out to an engagement session soon and wanted to post one image from my session this morning.

It was a very chilly May morning in the woods for this shoot. I think the wind chill was probably in the high 30's. These two little girls were tough though and complained less about the temperature than my trust assistant, my husband (sorry babe).

When we got to the last part of our session when they were going to play dress up under a canopy and blue skies a la Fancy Nancy, they came alive. The joy of watching the faces of little girls with boas, necklaces and sparkly things is too adorable.

Style and Substance ~ Omaha Family Photographer~

Wait until you see these adorable kids and their parents. I love photographing such sweet faces!

I have "known" Jodi for several months through multiple connections online but this was the first time we met for her family session that we scheduled back in March. Her family was even more cute in person than in photos. 9, almost 4 and 1 and dressed to the nines...I love it! Not only is Jodi a wonderfully kind, giving person but she has style...what a great combination.

I think my favorite part of the session is what I love about children. Here we are in the middle of the concrete urban jungle and they found any little dandelion or wild violet that made it's way through a crack in the cement or a patch of grass between buildings. I hope that I was able to capture their spirit in their photos as I saw it that day.

I know it I say it everytime but I really need to get a new blog layout so you can see these photos larger. It is on my ever growing list, I promise.

I met with the C family on a very overcast Sunday at beautiful Chalco Hills Park. They were such a fun, happy family. The cast and broken ankle didn't stop 10 year old Kylie from taking me closer to the water for some of her own posing. She was so sweet and full of life.

Miss Kennadi and I go way back even though she is only 1. She was my very first newborn shoot and I think my 4th shoot ever. Here was one of my favorite images from her newborn session last year

She has grown so much since then and I was thrilled to take more photos of her. I wish we could have had more time and I plan on asking mom if I can hang out with her again and take some more candid photos of her at home (hint, hint Mom :)).

Anyone that knows me knows that I am a HUGE college basketball fan. I am not talking about he kind that decides I like the game when March Madness arrives. I am the kind that used to pull in a mini crowd of onlookers at the local watering hole as I recited college basketball facts from who played for what team, a particular coaches career schools or six degrees of separation from Kansas Basketball (I am a lifelong Jayhawk fan). I still remember when Tom Penders coached at Texas and when Rick Barnes coached at Clemson and finished a game against North Carolina with only 4 players, as everyone else had fouled out. You get the point....I love this game!

I'm Baaaack!

You may have have noticed I have been absent from blogging. I was on a mini-hiatus as we awaited the arrival of our 4th child. We were thrilled to welcome Giovanni Charles Price, born at home (yes that was planned :)) on January 16, 2010. He is a wonderful, adorable little guy. His brothers and sisters are thrilled with him and rush to his side whenever he is free from mommy's arms or sling. I am thrilled to be back behind my camera and you can expect to see many new specials, more blogging and beautiful sessions this year (as well as photos of my awesome kids).

I started off the year with a newborn session yesterday with adorable, Landon. He was just 10 days old and so absolutely cute. I told his mom that if I did not have my own little guy to cuddle that her cutie pie son would surely have given me baby fever.

He was so easy going, although not a huge fan of being suspended but he still gave us a great shot nonetheless. I was so lucky again to have a baby with such beautiful skin tone, the cutest little mouth and take a look at his little natural mohawk (too CUTE!)

A Castle Adventure ~ Omaha Family Photographer~

I was thrilled to do a family photo shoot at the beautiful Joslyn Castle. We ended up with a cloudy, dreary day and had to chase the natural light around the castle but we had fun in the beautiful setting.

We are quickly approaching the holiday and sessions are wrapping up for the year as well as us awaiting the arrival of our 4th child in the next 3 weeks or so.

Engagement Turned Bridals ~Omaha Engagement Photographer~

I know that Ashley doesn't know this but I was SO nervous when she asked me to do her engagement photos. You see, Ashley is an AMAZING photographer from Columbus, Nebraska. Her newborn photography is stunning. I have been thinking about their session obsessively since the day she asked me in November. We met online among a group of photographers and found we had an appreciation for each others work. I was honored she asked me to take their photos.

This fun and awesome couple turned their engagement photos however into a Bridal session when they surprised their family and friends by getting married at Thanksgiving when everyone was together.

It was freezing out the night we met downtown at the Gene Leahy mall where he proposed to her. Ashley was a trooper braving the 20 degree wind chills in just her dress. You can't even tell she is cold in the photos. After photos in their wedding attire (don't you LOVE her vintage dress) we took some more traditional photos as well. It was so hard to choose which to post for the preview.

I had so many to choose from and I'm not even done with the session yet. These are some of my favorites so far. I hope you enjoy!

Growing Up ~ Omaha Child Photographer~

I know, you are probably thinking, "how rude"...but I can say it because it is my own children ;). I had a cancellation last Saturday so we decided to take the kids down to Old Market for photos. Let me tell you, I think my kids are adorable, sweet, funny and all that good stuff but at these ages and when they are used to me with my camera they are not interested in active photo participation. Sure, I got some good shots but shots of them but group shots...NO. I was hoping to have a nice photo for a Christmas card of all of them together...it didn't happen. I am not giving up though and plan to drag them out again very soon, determined to get a good Christmas card shot of the entire group.

Here are the few I got that I am somewhat happy with. I hope you enjoy my sweet kidlets. I know I do.

It could not be more beautiful today for our early 9:00am family shoot. This is one of the easiest families to photograph. Besides the fact that they are an adorable family they were so easy going. The kids were perfect angels and up for any rock sitting, tree limb sitting we introduced them to.

Yay! Warmer Weather ~ Omaha Child Photographer ~

Yesterday afternoon, in the beautiful 65 degree weather I had a chance to get some more photos of the kids from my shoot last weekend in 35 degree weather. I wanted to get some photos of their adorable 7 week old son without him being all bundled up. It was perfect outside and he was so calm and peaceful in the woods with no clothes on :).

Little Bailey, their 21 month old daughter is a life filled little girl who likes to give the camera serious looks. I can tell this is something she does special for my camera because as soon as she is away from me she is laughing and smiling. I suspect however that she is a budding artist because when I took them down to a graffiti wall covered area in the woods she came alive, she sat for me, paused so I could get some shots and loved the surroundings. She still gave me serious looks but they were mixed with a brilliant splash of color from her sweater and the walls.

So much fun and such beautiful children!

I had a great time with this family down in Old Market on a gorgeous November day. The kids ranged in age from 4 to 18 and I just loved seeing their personalities and interactions with one another. What the awesome mom saw as angst I saw as great family fun :).

I had so many great shots to choose from for the preview. I LOVE urban sessions for the great color and rich texture of the surroundings. We really got lucky with such a perfect day.

This family was so brave to come out at 9am and 35 degrees for photos of their three kidlets. It was chilly and we took several opportunities to warm up in our vehicles before moving onto new locations in the park. Their oldest was a trooper and such a great big brother to his sister. I even got some sweet shots of him trying to warm up her hands.

We are going to get more shots of the littlest family member later this week and mom and I are both hoping it will be warm enough for some cute naked baby shots in the woods :).

This first shot is the first shot of the day. It is not the kind of shot that parents usually love but as a photographer I am so drawn to the emotion and the way the lighting enhances that emotion. She was still very unsure of the strange woman with the camera as she stood close to her dad. I think she shot captured that perfectly.

Stunning Senior Girl ~ Omaha Senior Photographer

I could not be have been more lucky to have this Westside High School student as my first senior girl to photograph. I don't think I could have taken a bad photograph of her. Even the shots where her eyes were unintentionally closed somehow looked glamorous.

We were racing the daylight as fall is approaching and it is getting dark earlier. This pregnant photographer scaled a wall to get the right shot before we ventured over to some abandoned school buses.

It was a great shoot and I was unable to stick to my usual 4 preview shots. There were way to many I just loved so far.

Give Ten Project

It was September, 2007 when we got the news that our 3rd child, who we were 23 weeks pregnant with at the time, had a severe birth defect called a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. The CDH diagnosis carried a 50% chance that she would survive and if she did she likely would have many complications related to breathing and feeding. We came to Omaha from Wichita, Kansas after researching hospitals and surgeons and felt it would be the best place for her care after birth. The Rainbow House here in Omaha was kind, warm and comfortable at a time that was anything but. My husband, two young children, then almost 3 and 14 months, and I stayed at the Rainbow House for a week while going to doctor's appointments and trying to find a home in what would be come our new city.

It is this experience, the emotions brought about by the September air and my determination to help other families in similar situations that has led me to participate this month in the Give Ten Project. The Give Ten Project was started by several photographers including Stephanie Beaty of Lifeography .

For the month of September I will donate 10% of all print sales to The Rainbow House here in Omaha. I hope to be able to do a little something to help families in difficult situations with their own children.

I sit for the longest time trying to come up with a clever title for my posts. As you can see, it didn't happen with this one. I just tell it like it is and leave this part for all of my attempted cleverness to ooze out.

I had a great session on a gorgeous evening with the Dickinson family. We had to essentially wait in line to shoot in one of our locations because of other photographers. They were good sports and I of course, kept shooting. Their little girl was the absolute sweetest and has the most beautiful skin which is an absolute dream for a photographer.

11 Day Old Beauty ~ Omaha Newborn Photographer ~

This little one is a true beauty and I don't just say that because she is my great niece. She was so sweet and easy going. Her head and neck control for an 11 day old is absolutely amazing. The shots I took in the bucket she was like a miniature 3 month old sitting there.

I love color and was able to use it quite a bit on this session as you will see. I hope you enjoy :).

I had the joy of photographing a sweet 11 week old boy who had the most amazing skin I have ever seen before. It was completely flawless and the most beautiful, creamy tone I have ever seen in a baby. I usually do a little softening of newborn and toddler skin but his is completely untouched.

The session was a lot of fun. I always enjoy meeting sweet mama's and seeing what adorable poses we can get their little ones into before they have had enough. Little Mr. L. definitely christened all of my new blankets much more than any little one which I swear to his mother is NO big deal :).

I had a great session with a senior from Central City, NE this past Friday. We met bright and early at 7:45am in Old Market for some great urban scenery. We wrapped up with an afternoon studio session for some different looks.

Keith and his family were so nice, funny and brought their sweet, bacon loving dog Sugar to join in on the session as well.

These are such beautiful families. I always enjoy family shoots and being able to watch the dynamics between siblings and love between everyone.

The first set are from a gorgeous family with a sweet newborn little boy. We did his newborn photos clear back in May and finally had good weather and good timing to do the rest of the family session. His adorable 3 and 6 year old sisters are obviously quite taken with him.

The second set is from an awesome family from Iowa who were in town for the 4th of July. I first met the mom because our youngest daughters were born with the same condition, a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia. I contacted her when I was researching hospitals and surgeons and before our relocation to Omaha. We have found we have much in common outside of CDH including our love of wine and the fact that we are both overeducated and underpaid (the name of her blog :)) SAHM's.

Beth Jansen knew this family personally and has asked for support from the photography community for this family.

Friday night, driving home from swim lessons with her girls a storm erupted. In an instant a large tree branch fell on her car, killing her and her beautiful, sweet third daughter, Sloane. Left behind is Sean and the remaining 5 girls (Jillian, 12 Meghan, 11, Maeve, 6, Quinn, 2, and Kieran, 10 months) . I don’t think we can begin to imagine how difficult this is and will be on their family and loved ones. I am so thankful to have been introduced to such an amazing family. Kelly and sweet Sloane will be forever missed. I can’t begin to tell you how sorry I am. Please keep this family in your prayers. You can also help out by making a donation. There is a memorial fund being set up to help assist with education for the remaining 5 girls. Kelly, together with Sean worked like crazy to support her family and they will need large support to make up for the financial loss in the futre. I am ALSO asking any fellow photographer to help out too by posting this story with the pictures below on your blog to both spread the word on the scholarhip fund but also remind people to cherish their every day here b/c as this story resonates, we never know when its going to be our time.

Little Leah and Big Sister Emma

I had a great, two part session with 10 day old Leah and her big sister, 2 year old Emma. These two have the most beautiful eyes ever and the camera loved them.

Our session was split between indoor and outdoor. The outdoor ended up being a little chilly (go figure in June) and little Leah preferred her being snuggled with mom and dad instead of being handled by the photographer with the cold hands. I ended up getting some shots of her outdoors and several more amazing shots of big sis Emma.

Now mom and dad...when can I get the two of you behind the camera :).

Fabulous 3 Month Old Session

I have had the hardest time deciding what photos to select for my blog sneak peak. I LOVE so many of the images from the session and I'm not even done editing yet. This little man was so cute, made the sweetest little noises and had such loving, doting parents.

We split our session between indoor and outdoor. I loved the outdoor portion where we were able to get many natural, candid moments combined with some AMAZING baby in a basket shots (I'm saving those for the parents gallery but will share them after they have seen them.).

So...after much deliberation and finding yet another amazing shot I have selected these few to share for a sneak peak. Enjoy!

Baby H Sneak Peek

Falling more in love...that is the theme for this post. I am falling more in love with photography each day that passes, each session that takes place. I am on a high during and after each session when I realize I am creating memories for a family.

I had a wonderful newborn session with adorable baby H on Friday. He was SO sweet and stayed happily awake the majority of the time. He had such a calm about him. I could see that each time his parents looked into his beautiful blue eyes and held him in their arms that they were falling more in love with each look. I feel so privileged to have the chance to photograph these moments for them to have forever.

Here is a sneak peek from our session. I haven't even seen all of the images yet and can't wait to get through them.

Website Launched!

I am so excited to announce that I have launched www.amypricephotography.com. It was a work in progress and that step to going live meant I was finally able to really share my passion for photography with everyone.

You may notice from my first blog post in February that I have changed my name from A. Price Photography to Amy Price Photography. The change was an evolution in me, my confidence and who I am as a photographer.

You may also notice as you progress through the photos below that I, along with my name, have changed my logo. I really loved the logo Nate Portman did for me but it was necessary to introduce something new with my name change. I hope you like it.

I have had many sessions since my first post and I need to get you all updated. I am going to bombard you with tidbits from each session.

First, I had my senior session with Mike. He was a lot of fun and so easy to photograph. He was comfortable and up for anything including jumping on a train which simultaneously started up. Mike is a football player at Papio-South and will be playing football at UNO as well. Here are some of my favorites from the session

Next I had a family session with the Schuka family. They were so great because the weather that day was a very windy and little chilly but they were up for it. The girls were SO cute in their little cowboy boots and tutus. It was a great session and I look forward to photographing them again in the future.

My next session was with a spunky, energetic, smart little girl named McKenzie. We met down in Old Market and had a blast. I look forward to more work with her and her mom and dad in the future.

A couple of days later I was so thrilled to have the chance to photograph beautiful, 16 day old Kennadi. I am officially addicted to newborn photography. She was SO easy going and never made a single peep during the 3 hour session. I was thrilled to be able to do this shoot for her mom and dad. Here are some highlights.

I'm working on scheduling a couple more family sessions and a newborn. I will share them as they come up so keep checking back.

My First Blog Post...How Exciting!

Hello everyone! My name is Amy Price and I guess I can and should officially call myself a photographer. That, is really exciting.

I've been very interested in photography for many, many years. I have always found myself trying to get the best shot or capture that look in an eye or moment that I wanted to remember forever. It was not until I got my first "real" camera that I was truly bitten by the photography bug and realized that I could turn my longtime passion and interest into a career. I absolutely love the idea of creating memories for other people. I know how I feel when I see that perfect shot of my kids, that twinkle in the eye of my husband or a precious moment captured. I want to be able to give that feeling of joy to others.

I am a natural light photographer. I also will shoot in available light but what this means is that my primary source of light is nature's light. If I am inside a home or elsewhere with interior lighting that obviously is fine also. I am always so struck by the beauty of catchlights found in the eyes from natural light. It lights up the entire face.

I shoot mostly on location. This means that I will come to your home or meet you on location in some of the great and interesting areas around the city. I can do some shoots in my home also if you do not have abundant natural light in your home or the weather is not conducive to shooting outside.

I believe in capturing moments as they happen. When I go to sleep at night I remember that silly look or smile from those I love and those are the moments I wish to capture for you. I do set up shots at times where it is necessary but I mostly try to capture life as it unfolds.

I currently photograph families, children and babies. I also do engagement shoots, maternity, headshots and senior portraits. I am currently building my experience at shooting weddings and I have another photographer I currently work with who has a similar style for my wedding referrals. I will be the second shooter on those referrals. I will begin shooting weddings as a primary shooter in late summer.

I look forward to getting to know you and capturing those moments that you want to save for a lifetime.
